Prof. Ana da Silva wins the 2019 ASCE Karl Emil Hilgard Hydraulic Prize

Prof. da Silva has been selected to receive the 2019 Karl Emil Hilgard Hydraulic Prize from the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) for her paper “Meandering Morphodynamics: Insights from Laboratory and Numerical Experiments and Beyond”, published in the September 2017 issue of the ASCE Journal of Hydraulic Engineering. The prize is shared with her co-author Dr. Mohsen Ebrahimi, who completed his Ph.D. at Queen’s University in 2015, and presently resides in Cambridge, UK, where he works as a hydraulic/river engineer for the Mott MacDonald Group.

Prof. da Silva will be awarded the prize during the World Environmental and Water Resources Congress to be held in Pittsburgh, PA, USA, from May 19-23, 2019. Karl Emil Hilgard was a Swiss hydraulician and sponsor of the ASCE Hydraulic Prize named after him. The paper, which is part of a special collection of manuscripts dedicated to the 60th Anniversary of the Journal of Hydraulic Engineering, can be downloaded from:
